Weight training vs. Aerobic training; which one is better for weight loss?
Aerobic training is for fat loss, and strength training is for toning and muscle building. The exercise gurus tell us this is so, but is it? If it is true, then why do many people do aerobic exercise faithfully, but see no visible signs of fat loss? Paradoxically, why do many weight lifters have low body-fat levels, even if they don't do aerobic exercise? Clearly more is going on than is explained by conventional wisdom. This lecture will explore these contradictions, and come to a deeper truth.

Functional Fitness
Do you find weight training boring? Do you feel that your workouts have little carryover into the daily activities of your life? Do you feel your workouts are helping you improve your athletic performance as well as it could? If not, this workshop is for you.
Functional fitness is a way of incorporating fit balls, balance boards, pillows, and other such unstable devices into your routine to bring about improved proprioception (your body sensing where it is in relation to time and space) along with stabilization, and how these components work together to significantly increase the body’s ability to function in daily life and athletic performance.
Adding these elements not only improve the body, but adds variety to your exercise routine to make it fun and much easier to stick to.
The workshop is one hour long. The first thirty minutes is in a lecture formant with demonstration. The remaining thirty minutes will be dedicated to getting the audience involved teaching many different exercises, the proper form, and how to incorporate them into existing exercise routines for maximum benefit.
Exercise is an important component to create balance in an individual’s life. For the majority of people, the biggest hurdle to maintaining an exercise program is boredom. This lecture will open up the possibility of an endless array of designing exercise programs, keeping them fresh and exciting, thus encouraging a life long desire for exercise. Come in workout clothes.
